UC Analog Overview

Updated at April 9th, 2026

Prerequisites

UC Analog is an add on service.

Traditional Phone Line Replacement

Traditional phone line replacement involves switching from traditional analog copper lines to modern digital alternatives such as Hosted Voice or cellular (LTE/5add-onG) networks. Connect legacy devices and critical systems to the cloud, enhancing reliability, scalability, and functionality while ensuring compliance. Move away from reliance on traditional phone lines before they are phased out entirely. This transition is essential due to the phase-out of copper infrastructure, which causes rising costs and poor reliability. Common solutions include using analog telephone adapters to connect legacy devices like fax machines, security alarms, and elevators.

What's happening to traditional phone lines?

  • Traditional phone lines are going away
  • Carriers are dramatically increasing prices
  • Quality of service is rapidly declining
  • Mandated life safety devices are at risk!

UC Analog

UC Analog enables organizations to save money and keep using critical alarm, safety, building access and fax systems by migrating from copper-based phone lines to an intelligent all-in-one solution that runs on a hassle-free wireless network. UC Analog replaces copper lines.

Ideal for:

  • Fire Alarms
  • Security Panels
  • Elevator Phones
  • Public Safety Phones
  • Building Entry Phones
  • Essential Phone Lines
  • Fax Machines
  • Backup Phone Service

Key Features

All-Inclusive Solution

Solve all traditional phone lines challenges with one provider: hardware, data, and phone service with no monthly rate surprises.

Tremendous Value

Save money on monthly phone bills with a cost-effective wireless replacement.

Compliance Ready

Built with applicable guidelines of UL, NFPA 72, California Fire Marshal, New York City Fire Department and ASME A17.1B. Supports Kari's Law and Ray Baum's Act.

Simple Migration

Provides a quick, easy migration so organizations can keep using existing systems.

Future Proof

Copper lines are not coming back. As carriers continue to phase out aging infrastructure, buildings still dependent on traditional lines face rising costs, shrinking support, and eventual disconnection. UC Analog moves your critical systems onto a cloud-based foundation that is built to evolve, so the next industry change does not catch you off guard

Failover Protection

MultiPath technology sends all voice traffic over both LTE and wired Ethernet links simultaneously. Backup battery maintains service for 16 hours, extendable to more than 24 hours.

Flexible Deployment

Mount vertically on a wall or place on flat surface.

Secure Network Option

A Managed Facilities-Based Voice Network (MFVN) - compliant network option ensures traffic never crosses the public internet when required.

The Ultimate in High Availability

UC Analog's MultiPath transport technology routes all voice traffic over both the LTE and wired Ethernet networks simultaneously to avoid service disruptions. Even if one connection fails, calls continue without interruption.

How MultiPath Works:

  • UC Analog connects to both your broadband router (via Ethernet) and the LTE wireless network simultaneously.
  • All voice traffic is sent over both links simultaneously via the UC Analog MultiPath Server.
  • If either link goes down, calls continue seamlessly on the remaining connection.
  • The built-in battery provides 16 hours of backup power during outages, extendable to 24+ hours.
  • Complete redundancy of all packets across two links
  • Active-active topology providing immediate failover with no delay
  • No device or SIP re-registration required in a failover scenario = no dropped calls

Use Case -  Storage Company

  Challenges   UC Analog Benefits
  • Unmanned storage facilities need secure gate and life safety systems; customer has multiple gate, call box, and elevator phone makes and models
  • Need phone service for new locations where traditional phone lines is no longer available
  • Inability to proactively monitor call box and elevator phone traditional phone lines availability
  • Rising traditional phone lines line costs
  • Remain in compliance
  • Limited IT budget and telco resources
  • Significant cost savings on monthly bills
  • Simple installation, rapid deployment
  • Life safety compliance
  • Customer keeps life safety systems and in-house infrastructure
  • Additional cost reductions by eliminating telco partners
  • Nationwide service availability
  • Increased resiliency by supporting cellular and wireline connectivity
  • Aligns with their initiative to move systems to the cloud; reduces internal IT strain to support systems

Use Case - Commercial Real Estate

  Challenges   UC Analog Benefits
  • Need a solution that can be used across their entire commercial real estate portfolio
  • Must support multiple elevator types, fire and entry alarms, call boxes across internal and external environments, and connect to multi-function commercial monitoring systems
  • Security personnel must test life safety phones on daily basis across a large footprint
  • Must rely on fire life safety companies to provide status reports on infrastructure
  • Rising traditional phone lines line costs, slow carrier support response when traditional phone lines lines are down
  • Remain in compliance
  • Built-in site assessment determines optimum installation
  • Turnkey installation services with full project management
  • Significant cost savings and cost avoidance
  • Fire (NFPA) and life safety compliance
  • Keep using existing fire and life safety systems
  • Nationwide service availability, increased resiliency by supporting cellular and wireline connectivity options
  • Increases facilities and building management efficiencies using on-board visual tools and proactive notifications
  • Reduces multi-vendor operational complexities
